I have been following the progress of the Terrafugia Transition flying car for almost a year now, and finally, flying car airplane has successfully flown its first flight. It took off from an airport in Plattsburgh, New York on March 5, and the company's flight's success today as it placed the Transition on exhibit at Boston's Museum of Science.
Still the ship date is not confirmed but i think it will be soon because it is almost four months ahead of it's testing schedule.
price approx at $194,000 the car which convert into airplane in 30 secs.
check out the test flight and the pilot interview

World’s first flying car gets final touches

Finally, As we said before about Terrafugia transition
"The first flying automobile, equally at home in the sky or on the road, is scheduled to take to the air next month. If it survives its first test flight, the Terrafugia Transition, which can transform itself from a two-seater road car to a plane in 15 seconds, is expected to land in showrooms in about 18 months' time. Terrafugia claims it will be able to fly up to 500 miles on a single tank of unleaded petrol at a cruising speed of 115mph. Even at $200,000 per automobile, they have already received 40 orders."

Moller Says Flying Ferraris Taking Off In Two Years [Flying Cars]

Moller International, creators of the first flying car ever made, has said it'll be able to bring a flying Ferrari into driveways in roughly two years. The “Autovolantor,” based on the Ferrari 599 GTB, will use eight thrusters to take off vertically, hover, and fly forward at 150mph.
The designer, Bruce Calkins, says the car features a specially designed hybrid fuel and electric power system for the thrusters, and will be able to fly up to altitudes of 5,000 feet and go about 75 miles in the air before running empty. The cost for shooting out of traffic will be about $787,000, Calkins said.
Call me a skeptic, but the whole thing sounds like a load of hot air. The article and a search of Moller's site revealed almost no information about the mechanics of the project. Unless someone actually shows me how they plan on lifting two tons of metal off the ground using “thrusters,” I'm going to file this under the “I'll believe it when I see it” folder. [Telegraph UK]

Drivable Plane For Sale Next Year, Not a Flying Car yet

Terrafugia Transition. The company plans to have them out before the end of 2009.
Just think! One more year until we actually have flying cars! Or at least the closest thing to them. The Terrafugia Transition may not be able to do Vertical Take-off Landings, or hover, but it can take off from a normal airplane runway.
As you can see from the YouTube video that has no sound, the wings just fold up after landing. It reminds me of the car that Matt Tracker used to drive on M.A.S.K., but some of you probably don’t remember that old cartoon.
The Terrafugia is certified by both the FAA as a light airplane, and the NHTSA as street legal. Just to let you know, you will need a light sport license to fly the Transition, but to drive it, it looks like all you’ll need is a regular license. The wings will not open up unless a specific combination is entered to guard against what would be a spectacular climax to a highway high-speed chase.

Well, I could go into a lot about how the Terrafugia is going to change the world as we know it, and who knows, maybe it will. I think I’m going to follow-up on this next year and we’ll see how it’s coming along. I’ve heard that the price will be about $194,000, so hopefully you can get it then.
