Make Iphone Apps dont worry about programming

iphone3g thinking
If you have an idea for a new Iphone app but worried about the programming side .
Don't worry anymore, just think of a killer app idea and go to IphoneAppsQoutes.com and get a free quote from up to 3 iPhone development companies, and from there you’ll be able to pick which one you like and make that killer app for iphones.
This is a very goood idea because now can make your own custom app for yourself. No idea regarding the quotes or how much they are charging and how can we trust the company like if you give your idea and then can't afford to make one but instead your idea is out open.

Mimi switch controls iPod with facials expression

mimi switch
A wink, a smile or a raised eyebrow could soon change the music on your iPod or control electronics
Osaka University inventor Kazuhiro Taniguchi chief researcher at Osaka University's Graduate School of Engineering Science in western Japan has just displayed a new way of controlling your earphones called the "Mimi Switch." The unit's infrared sensors detect the movements your face makes when smiling, winking or changing your facial expression and translates those movement into digital commands. The mechanism also collects facial movement data and can be programmed to initiate certain functions if the wearer is smiling too little or too much, such as modifying your playlist to suit your current mood.

"The machine can be programmed to run with various other facial expressions, such as a wriggle of the nose or a smile."

"It monitors natural movements of the face in everyday life and accumulates data," Taniguchi told AFP in an interview. "If it judges that you aren't smiling enough, it may play a cheerful song."

The Mimi Switch could also store and interpret data and get to know its user,
The device could also serve as a remote control for appliances for physically disabled people, from cameras and computers to air conditioners, or alert medical services if a person has a fit, he said.
The device has yet to be in the commercial market it may take around two three years more

Safari hacked in 10 sec at Pwn2Own hacking competition

Hacker's view

Pwn2Own a hacking contest at the CanSecWest security conference in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Charlie Miller, an analyst at Independent Security Evaluators in Baltimore, who hacked a Macintosh in two minutes last year at CanSecWest's PWN2OWN contest and this time he hacked Safari in just 10 seconds, then used a remote-execution exploit to take over the up-to-date MacBook and walked off with a $5,000 cash prize and the MacBook he hacked from Zero Day Initiative.

PWN2OWN's sponsor, 3Com Corp.'s TippingPoint unit, paid Miller $5,000 for the rights to the vulnerability he exploited and the exploit code he used.charlie miller pwn2own contest

"I can't talk about the details of the vulnerability, but it was a Mac, fully patched, with Safari, fully patched," said Miller on Wednesday, after he had won the prize. "It probably took five or 10 seconds,I gave them the link, they clicked on it, and that was it," said Miller. "I did a few things to show that I had full control of the Mac."
He confirmed that he had researched and written the exploit before he arrived at the challenge.
Miller added "If it wasn't for the competition, there'd still be these two bugs from this year and last year".
"Apple gets free bugs, I get money and people's computers get fixed".

And The champion of the day was "Nils" just Nils a master's student from the University of Oldenburg , who made hacking all three browsers look very easy

Nils said: "It's not as easy as a few years ago.

"Still, browsers have a lot of problems. It's really a lot of codes that are exposed to the internet".

He ran a sleek exploit against IE8, defying Microsoft’s latest built in protection technologies- DEP (Data Execution Prevention) as well as ASLR (Address Space Layout Randomization) to take home the Sony Vaio and $5,000 from ZDI and then Nils pulled a Safari exploit quickly taking down Apple’s browser for another $5,000 and then mozilla firefox totalling 15k

This year's PWN2OWN also features a mobile operating system contest that will award a $10,000 cash prize for every vulnerability successfully exploited in five smartphone operating systems: Windows Mobile, Google's Android, Symbian, and the operating systems used by the iPhone and BlackBerry. The first person to crack any of the mobile devices will also get to keep that device along with a one year phone contract.
The full set of rules for this contest are posted here.

Iphone 3g launched in U.A.E by etisalat

On 21st feb etisalat launched iphone 3g with expensive and confusing data plan it came after a very long time and almost all the Apple fans who has already purchased unlocked iphones in dubai (as they cannot resist).

the plan has no unlimited usage unlike blackberry.<-- that's not good Iphone 3g 8bg for 2646 dhs Iphone 3g 16gb for 3090 dhs
Check out the Data plans etisalat iphone 4g data planProvided by etisalat
Saudi received a very nice response about 25000 iphone 3g subscribers in few hours of launch I think this is due to saudi started booking online well before the launch date and etisalat over here rushed everything up, I think etisalat won't get that kind of response because everyone knows that dubai was flooded with unlocked iphones since a week later after it launched in (iphone 2g) in U.S.
There is a dealer i know who is selling unlocked iphones and he nearly sold 5200 pieces in dubai and a guy who used to unlock Iphone 2g has unlocked nearly 1500-1700 iphones till date and even before the etisalat's launch every small shops in malls and souq started selling iphones and now the shops who used to sell iphone 3g in low price as compared to etisalat even they have increased their prices but many apps installed.
this is really funny
Regarding the Arabic support it will be sooon approx 2-3 months.

Now talibans started using Iphones

taliban iphone(Photo via Al Jazeera English)

I was suprised when i was this, Mullah Zaeef the Taliban's former ambassador to Pakistan says he's addicted to Iphone when interviewed by Al Jazeera correspondent Hamish McDonald during a visit in Kabul.

I asked Zaeef about his gadget. His response was pretty much the same as everyone who owns an iPhone.

"I'm addicted," he said, "the internet is great on this, very fast."

He proceeded to show myself and our film crew his favourite websites. I half expected him to log on and show us 'Taliban Twitter'.

Years before Taliban had restricted to use any new modern techies even tv's in aghanistan.

So what rules can be changed a bit when it comes to Apple, Soon you will find Apps for talibans (1000 ways to hide in mountains ) or talibook. Apple has a new market now wonder when ATRA (Afghan telecom) signs a deal with Apple maybe 2040 ?. A proud switcher from Motorola 1000 'Autotelefon'.

Windows to Linux and Finally Mac

After using windows for many many years now i have decided to switch to mac. Specially when i started using iphone I always use to wonder that how amazing iphone is so what about macbook or imac . I did some digging and finally converted to mac.
just two days before i purchased a macbook 2.0ghz and i am really in love with it, looks wise, performance wise, interface is superb and this is the only laptop which welcomed me on startup, says welcome in different language.
I got frustrated many times because i am used to windows layout, keyboard shorcuts, prog Formats + all my work is in external hard disk which i am not able to use it with mac , the worst part is I dont know any programs for mac, i have a list of software names from which i can download but i dont know what are they for e.g toast (i have no idea) found out that it's similar to nero ahhaaa seee but i have no regrets just need some more time to figure everything out. The main thing is I am damn happy with it.
thxs to guys at Emirates mac and shufflegazine these websites help me alot in these two days.
Some pics of my macbook and this is my first post from mac

iphone bluetooth file transfer now possible

iBluetooth team announced that it had succeeded in allowing the iPhone to transfer files over Bluetooth. This technology, which has not yet been released, will let jailbroken iPhone users leverage Bluetooth to move files via OBEX, the object exchange protocol. They're working on an iPhone Bluetooth API to allow simple phone-to-phone communications and peripheral add-ons. The development API should allow iPhone applications to network with each other, providing a basis for multi-phone gaming and information exchange such as vCard distribution. The peripheral support will allow iPhones to pair with Bluetooth devices, such as keyboards, to allow wireless connectivity and communication with these peripherals. The iPhone application will be making its way onto the usual jailbroken app distribution systems (Cydia, installer) but right now its in limited release to people who have donated to the project.
The video demonstrates file transfer between an iPhone and a Mac, and between an iPhone and a Sony Ericsson handset.

Apple Patent filing to Adjust iPhone Volume automatically.

apple patent filing
The US Patent Office published an Apple patent filing that reveals the company having developed a new system to auto adjust sound volumes. As we know ringtones have to be adjusted everytime depending upon noisier or quieter environments. Apple has come up with a system that uses the sound sensor to determine an ambient sound level for the environment in the proximity of the device. The system then adjusts a volume setting for the device adaptively based on the determined ambient sound level. Apple suggests that a sound sensor like a mic can be used to determine the ambient noise level on startup or over time and change the base volume to be audible based on nearby conditions. Credited to Peter Mahowald

iphone 3g mic
The company already uses ambient sensors to detect light for the displays on the iPhone, iPod touch and most Macs and also to illuminate MacBook keyboards.
