Windows to Linux and Finally Mac

After using windows for many many years now i have decided to switch to mac. Specially when i started using iphone I always use to wonder that how amazing iphone is so what about macbook or imac . I did some digging and finally converted to mac.
just two days before i purchased a macbook 2.0ghz and i am really in love with it, looks wise, performance wise, interface is superb and this is the only laptop which welcomed me on startup, says welcome in different language.
I got frustrated many times because i am used to windows layout, keyboard shorcuts, prog Formats + all my work is in external hard disk which i am not able to use it with mac , the worst part is I dont know any programs for mac, i have a list of software names from which i can download but i dont know what are they for e.g toast (i have no idea) found out that it's similar to nero ahhaaa seee but i have no regrets just need some more time to figure everything out. The main thing is I am damn happy with it.
thxs to guys at Emirates mac and shufflegazine these websites help me alot in these two days.
Some pics of my macbook and this is my first post from mac

Is the October 14th invite a glass trackpad?

It takes the kind of demented mind that is posessed by one Dr. Macenstein to see the cryptic messages Apple is sending us...or so we are hoping. Dr. Macenstein reports that the October 14th event invite is actually a glass trackpad. Yes, that glass trackpad! If you look at it the right way, under certain conditions...well you get the drift. Set your clock to count down until Tuesday....check back here Tuesday morning.

October 14th it is!

Apple on Thursday e-mailed invitations to media members for an event on Oct. 14 at the company's Cupertino, Calif. headquarters where Apple is set to rollout new models of its Macintosh laptop computers. The invitations, which read "The spotlight turns to notebooks," featured a partially obscured notebook PC coming out of shadows with a light upon the Apple logo. Apple has been expected to do some sort of revamp of its notebook line ahead of the end of the year holiday shopping season. Apple shares rose $2.67, or almost 3%, to $92.42 in afternoon trading.

Contrary to reports from other publications, the long anticipated MacBook event is on! Did you ever doubt? (us neither)

Apple introducing new manufacturing process .'Brick'?

The Apple rumor mill has really cooked up a doozy this time. According to 9to5mac -- a site with a fairly good track record -- Apple's next big thing isn't just a laptop or an iPod... it's an entirely new manufacturing process. If you believe the site's sources, an as-yet-unannounced event on October 14th will herald in a new iteration of the MacBook dubbed the "Brick," but the big news won't actually be about the laptop. Apparently, Apple has created a brand-new process to sculpt casings for products out of aircraft-grade aluminum, using a system that carves the pieces out of a single block of metal using "3D lasers" and water-jet cutting. The new technique will supposedly allow for seamless components which require no bending or folding, won't use screws to join together, are ultra-light but also "super strong," and will enable the company to rapidly prototype and produce new designs. Of course, not a single word of this is confirmed or even acknowledged by Apple, though we have been hearing whispers of the "Brick" for a few weeks now. Ultimately, everyone should approach this news with extreme skepticism, but if these rumors get magically transmuted into reality, there's no telling what kind of new gear Apple might have up its sleeve.

[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]
