Windows 7 beta now in Arabic

windows 7Microsoft Gulf today announced the availability of the beta version of the Windows 7 operating system in English and Arabic.

The company also announced the availability of Windows Live, a suite of personal communication services and applications for Windows.

Wilson Xavier, Windows Client Business Group lead, Microsoft Gulf said, “As we look at Windows today, we have strong momentum behind our products and brand and we are excited about where we are headed for Windows 7.”

“Microsoft offers Arabic language support across its entire product portfolio and is the next step to broadening Microsoft's outreach and empowering customers. The Arabic version of Windows 7 is identical to the English version,” Assem Abdullah Hijazi, localization manager, Arabic Language Product Support, Microsoft MEA.

Arabic version can be downloaded from TechNet Evaluation Center. Microsoft has decided to make the beta download available to interested users till February 10, 2009.

* 1GHz processor (32- or 64 Bit)
* 1GB of main memory
* 16GB of available disk space
* Support for DX9 graphics with 128MB of memory (for the Aero interface)
